Less than bargained for...

EBAs

The latest enterprise bargaining agreement figures via the Attorney General revealed ongoing softness to the June 2019 quarter. 

Private sector agreements contained quantifiable wage increases of +2.8 per cent (down from +2.9 per cent in the March 2019 quarter). 

Public sector agreement increases were +2.6 per cent (up from +2.4 per cent).

In total, including federal and state enterprise agreements covered 37.9 per cent of all Australian employees as at May 2018. 

Core inflation is running at about 1.4 per cent, with no return to target likely for some years to come.
