Stock still tight

Listings down in 2019

There was the usual increase in new listings in October, especially in Sydney and Melbourne this year.

Still, it hasn't moved the dial much, with only a few auction weekends remaining in 2019.

Nationally listings were -4.8 per cent lower than a year earlier at 318,874, according to SQM Research.

Sydney listings were down -19 per cent from a year earlier, while Melbourne was down -7.8 per cent.

Sydney listings are still quite elevated in the Hills District and SW Sydney, but have generally fallen across the board since the election as stock is hoovered up.
