Rental vacancies to tighten again

Rental crisis looms

Based on the weekly rent listings from SQM Research, it looks as though weekly rent listings continued to tighten further in March.

Here's the graph for Brisbane, where rental vacancies are at the lowest level on the history of the data series, despite the population growth over that period.

Many other cities are towns are showing similar figures.

I've been presenting at an event at Gold Coast this weekend, and one of the mortgage broker speakers was musing how lending standards will ultimately need to be loosened for prospective landlords as the available rental stock continues to plummet towards zero.
