Vacancy rates and listings crash to crippling new low

Record low vacancies

Rental vacancy rates fell in October in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, and Canberra.

The national vacancy rate for residential properties declined to 0.8 per cent, the lowest on record. 

Adelaide now has a vacancy rate of an absurdly low 0.2 per cent.

There's more tightening to come as immigration ramps up and interest rates rise to decade highs. 

Meanwhile the economic geniuses at the Greens took the opportunity today to call for a clampdown on tax deductibility for landlords and the capital gains tax 'discount'...yes, just what the rental market needs!
