UBS Global Wealth Report 2025
I'm still smarting a bit from a trip to the US late last year, where Antipodean visitors feel the pain of the lower Aussie dollar these days.
Since the peak of the mining boom, when the Australian currency was well above parity with the US dollar, our wealth doesn't go as far as it used to Stateside.
On the other hand, household wealth has exploded in Australia to above $17 trillion, with stock markets, property prices, and superannuation balances all breaking new highs lately.
The UBS Global Wealth Report for 2024 showed that there were 1.9 US dollar millionaires in Australia over the calendar year.

While the United States is home to many of the world's super-wealthy, the median wealth per adult in Australia is pretty much to top of the tree.

In fact, the US is home to some 24 million USD millionaires, nearly 40 per cent of the world's total.
Canada and Australia both have around 2 million USD millionaires, which is fairly impressive given the respective size of the populations of these two countries.
The early signs in 2025 are that there will be another significant increase in household wealth in Australia.
