Listings pick up seasonally at last

Listings rise through October

SQM Research released its latest listings data, showing a small seasonal increase in total listings in Brisbane.

The largest increase was seen in Sydney, with listings up 13 per cent in October to a total of 37,000, as vendor confidence in the spring selling season increased.

While it's generally a busy time of year, that's a pretty solid number of properties for sale now.

Perth....well, Perth remains extremely tight.

And Melbourne, overall, seems like a fairly balanced market, like Sydney.

Asking prices rose 0.5 per cent in the month, and over the year across the capital cities were 8.4 per cent higher for houses, and 7.6 per cent higher for units.
