Auction volumes this week were a little bit lower than a year earlier, though not much.
In Melbourne there were some 769 auctions this week, so the sample size is reasonable.

Figures released by Domain showed units in Sydney averaged a clearance rate of 75 per cent for the whole of August, versus 72 per cent for houses.
