CBA looks for year-high close

With less than an hour left of trade Commonwealth Bank is looking for a 52-week high close at around $79.50.

The banks took a veritable battering through the Royal Commission into banking and financial services misconduct, but have since come out the other side.

There was an initial relief rally following the election result, and now further gains for all of the majors. 


Some very smart people are talking about the risk of a recession in Australia.

Bond yields are certainly pricing for further interest rate falls, but a recession...markets are more sanguine, at the moment.
