Sydney rebound

There is some conflicting data around concerning the Sydney property market.

The Office of State Revenue (OSR) New South Wales statistics record that there were 44,600 transactions through May and June in the state, a solid rebound. 

Mortgage finance data fails to capture cash sales, so the OSR figures - while frequently subject to material revisions - can sometimes be a useful indicator of "relative strength":

Interest rate cuts could see transaction volumes back into ultra-strong territory by the time September rolls around.
