Sydney devour 'Pies to go 4th on ladder; Gillard moves to ban live odds

Stephen Koukoulas, the former economics adviser to Prime Minister Julia Gillard, has been remarkably prescient in recent times, famously predicting that interest rates would be slashed from 4.75% to 3.50% by June 2012 (when others were calling for hikes), which proved to be exactly the case.

Not so hot on the AFL tipping though...

A crushing 102-55 win for Sydney over the mighty Collingwood, breaking their MCG hoodoo to send them 4th on the ladder.

On a more serious note, PM Gillard has made a move to stop live match odds being shown during our televised sporting events.

I think most Aussies who don't work in the industry would agree this has to be a good thing as minors shouldn't be unwittingly exposed to the gambling culture.

Bravo Julia.
